Rose M. Gonzalez

A Survivor Who Turned Experience Into Purpose

Rose M. Gonzalez is a survivor, mother, and advocate whose remarkable journey has given her a powerful perspective on faith, resilience, family, and patient self-advocacy. Born in New Orleans to Central American immigrant parents, Rose faced serious medical challenges beginning shortly after birth.

Her life became marked by surgeries, painful setbacks, difficult medical decisions, and moments when the future seemed painfully uncertain. Yet alongside those struggles stood the unwavering support of her family and a faith in God that continued to carry her forward.

Survival ultimately gave Rose more than another chance at life, it gave her a purpose. Drawing from lived experience rather than medical credentials, she now shares what her journey taught her about asking questions, seeking second opinions, understanding one’s care, and refusing to disappear into silence when important decisions are being made.

Through her story, Rose seeks to remind people facing illness, fear, or uncertainty that they are not alone, and that even suffering can become a source of compassion, courage, and service to others.
